Moto E5...
The Moto E4 was launched in June 2017, and there are still a few months left before we can expect the announcement of its successor if Lenovo-owned Motorola is going to follow a yearly smartphone upgrade cycle.
However, we’re now exclusively bringing you the first image of the Moto E5 , which could be launched later this year. From the image, we can be sure that the company will launch the metal-clad Moto E5 in Gold.
We currently do not have any information on the specifications of this smartphone, but we can always make an educated guess.
Moto E5 Expected Spec's and Feature.
Going by the first image of the Moto E5, it appears that the company has gotten rid of the front-facing fingerprint reader. The fingerprint reader has been moved to the rear of the phone, hiding within the Motorola logo.
On-screen buttons will handle the user interface navigation, and an LED flash will aid the front-facing camera on the Moto E5, similar to its predecessor. The volume rocker and the power button will stay on the right side of the phone.
It appears that the company will not move to a USB Type-C port on the E series of smartphones this year. The Moto E5 will feature a micro USB port.
The screen on the Moto E5 could measure 5 inches diagonally, and it doesn’t look like it’s an 18:9 display. There’s a camera hump on its rear, and it consists of the single rear-facing camera sensor and an LED flash.
Lenovo chose a MediaTek chipset for the Moto E4, and the company could continue to use a MediaTek chipset inside the Moto E5, but we would be happier to see a Snapdragon chipset instead.
The phone will most probably be launched with a dual-SIM card slot, at least in emerging markets like India. We also expect other connectivity features on the Moto E5 such as GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 3.5mm headphone port (at the top).
Moto E5 Expected Release Date.
The clock widget on the Moto E5’s screen mentions April 3, so we expect the company to officially unveil the phone on April 3, 2018 (Tuesday).
If it turns out to be true, then it would be an earlier-than-expected launch compared to the Moto E4 which was launched in June of 2017. Expect the price of the phone to be somewhere between $120-$150 (approximately, Rs. 7,500 and Rs. 9,500).
The company could also release the Moto E5 Play and the Moto E5 Plus alongside the Moto E5 this year.
Moto G6 Family...
The Moto G6 family consists of the Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus, and Moto G6 Play. Unlike the metal design of the Moto G5 and the Moto G5 Plus, Lenovo is moving to a metal-and-glass design for the Moto G6 family.
The rear design of all three smartphones resembles that of the Motor X4, which was launched last year. All these smartphones will come with screen sizes that are larger than their predecessors. Let’s have a look at the images of the Moto G6, G6 Plus, and the G6 Play.
Moto G6 Specs and Feature.
The Moto G6 which appears in Rose Gold colour in this image has an 18:9 screen with smaller bezels compared to the Moto G5. Unlike the Moto E5, the finger-print reader of the Moto G6 hasn’t been moved to its rear.
The phone has a thin fingerprint reader below the display along with the Motorola logo. There’s a front-facing camera with an LED flash. There’s a dual-camera setup at the rear of the Moto G6 along with dual-LED flash. We can also noticed the secondary microphone as well. The phone has a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone port at its bottom.
According to a separate story about the Moto G6 family which was published by Droid Life, the Moto G6 will have a 5.7-inch Full HD+ (2160×1080 pixels) screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor, a 12MP+5MP rear-facing camera, and a 16MP front-facing camera.
It could be offered in two variants: 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage. The Moto G6 could come with a 3000mAh battery, which has a slightly larger capacity than the Moto G5’s 2800mAh battery.
The phone should also be available in Black and Silver when it launches for $240 (approximately Rs. 15,265).
Moto G6 Plus Specs and Feature.
The Moto G6 Plus has the exact same design as that of the Moto G6, but it could come with a larger, 5.93-inch Full HD+ display and a 3200mAh battery.
There’s a front-facing camera along with an LED flash, earpiece, and sensors above the 18:9 screen. The phone could be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor, 12MP+5MP rear-facing camera setup, and a 16MP front-facing camera. It could have 3GB/4GB/6GB RAM and 32GB/64GB internal storage.
The fingerprint reader is at the front of the phone, and its rear consists of a dual-camera setup with dual-LED flash, a secondary microphone, and the Motorola (batwing-like) logo.
The phone retains the 3.5mm headphone port and comes with a USB Type-C port at the bottom. It could be offered in the same colours as the Moto G6.
We currently don’t have any information regarding the phone’s IP certification. Lenovo could offer the phone in Black, Dark Teal, and Silver colours at a price of $330 (approximately Rs. 20,990).
Moto G6 Play Specs and Feature.
The Moto G6 Play, which could be priced lower than the Moto G6 and the Moto G6 Plus, has a rear-mounted fingerprint reader which is hidden inside the Moto logo.
The fingerprint reader on the Moto G6 Play is similar to the one that will be offered on the Moto E5. It has a front-facing camera which is accompanied by an LED flash, similar to the Moto G6 and the Moto G6 Plus. However, it lacks a dual-camera setup at its rear.
According to Droid Life, the Moto G6 Play will have a 5.7-inch HD (?) screen with 16:9 aspect ratio. It could also come packed with a whopping 4000mAh battery, which has a much larger capacity than the batteries inside the Moto G6 and the Moto G6 Plus. It could be launched in three colour variants: Dark Charcoal, Deep Blue, and Gold.
