According to a sleep specialist, feeling sleepy while studying may have something to do with the environment in which you are studying. Many students that study in their beds or in their pajamas or sweats find themselves feeling tired as these aspects are usually associated with relaxing and falling asleep. Your surroundings are mostly responsible for your sleepiness. Lack of interest is also an aspect to consider since many people don't work according to their interest and often feel sleepy. Laziness is also a reason for feeling drowsy. Drowsy while studying can have an adverse effect on your memory capacity, it can cause lack of concentration which is isn't good. So, try to study during the daytime or the time when you feel replenishing. However, even then here are some ways to avoid sleep during studying and working.

This tips can help to avoid sleep, but remember avoiding sleep is on your will, if do really want to avoid it you won't even need this tips, but however this might help you achieve that will.

Eating fattening foods will make you feel slow and sluggish. If you want energy and want to stay alert while studying, you need to eat a healthy and balanced diet. Choose foods high in nutrients like salads, soups, potatoes, and lean proteins. For sugar boosts, stick to foods like apples and oranges with natural sugars.

As a freshman in college, my roommates and I would do workout videos during study breaks. Getting up and moving was the perfect way to keep us awake and alert. You don’t have to do workout videos to get the same benefits. Just get up and move. Walk around the room. Jump up and down. Stretch. Just find a way to get your blood flowing.
