BATTERY DRAIN ISSUE

BATTERY DRAIN DUE TO BLUETOOTH

Xiaomi launched the Mi A1 under the Android One program with Android Nougat and promised Oreo by the end of 2017. To keep it's promise it extended it's potentials and gave android oreo rollout on the last day of year. Although, they were able to keep their promise but consumers were really annoyed due to the amount of bugs present. Many bugs very related to battery drain, Jio not working, fingerprint gestures not responding, Bluetooth consuming huge battery and unresponsiveness of the camera app, dialer app, Recents app and the ambient light sensor. It's a huge disappointment, for Android one and Xiaomi, that it's latest stock android providing had a huge success in market but this controversy might not end well.

While half the problems are yet to be cleared, Xiaomi offered a workaround for the dialer app. At the Mi Community forums, a Xiaomi representative suggested users uninstall MyJio app from the phone, or if they want to keep using it, to disable the “Telephone” permissions.

According to Mi forum,

They just dropped an Android Oreo update for Mi A1 a few days back. They stumbled upon an issue where some users were having issue with dialer app getting hanged or there's an unusual delay in making the call.

Upon researching they found that MyJio application is causing ANR when a call is being made or received and hence the issue. The issue is seen when MyJio app is being present with all app permissions granted.

While they are checking the issue, and have contacted JIO, here’s a workaround you can use.

The company acknowledged the issues and stopped the update. The rollout of 8.0 will resume “in next couple of weeks”, Mi India confirmed on social media. It's just a more couple of weeks, well "patience is good if the fruit is good".

I'll be posting a post as soon as the update will resume and will be listing out the major bugs and whether they are cleared or not.
