OTA Update for HTC 10 hasn't been received, so the Oreo update for HTC 10 is just a rumour?????

To Answer this, let's start from where the rumours originated, actually there was never a OTA update released for HTC 10 officially. But there are people who say they received the update, so whats the truth????
It was reported that Oreo update for HTC 10 was out yesterday, well now there isn't any update and furthermore the RUU package which was responsible for this mess has been taken down. If now you visit the download page you will notice an 404 error, which means that it has been taken down and is now unavailable on internet.
According to XDA forums, there was never any rollout of Android Oreo update for HTC 10. It claims it as the people owning this device didn't receive any push notification to update their device and even it wasn't available by manual means.
Then, how did the word spread????
It seems that the RUU package which was available on the internet was the cause. Speculations suggest that whoever received the update and were able to download as well as install the RUU package were likely those users who have paid Sunshine S-OFF ( a bootloader unlock/s-off tool). So basically the users extracted the firmware from the RUU and flashed the firmware themselves. While the update caused a bit of confusion on forums, Sunshine S-OFF could cause serious issues with the handset. Besides, there were numerous cases of battery issues reported after installing the latest update.
However, HTC has taken the RUU package for unknown reasons. It implies that, they are just following the same path as Xiaomi MIA1 which cancelled it OTA rollout due to bugs and issues. People using HTC 10 with RUU package installed have reported various battery issues and bugs, by this we can just guess that HTC taken down the package due to the bugs in it.
Will HTC 10 receive Android Oreo in future????
Yeah, there are high odds about that. HTC 10 was released in 2016 initially was launched with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and later on was updated to Android 7.0 Nougat in February 2017. HTC also ensured Android Oreo for HTC 10 in November 2017.
HTC announced the release of the Android Oreo update for the HTC U11 and HTC U Ultra as well but till date, only the HTC U11 has received the update. It was in November 2017. But, still HTC hasn't officially announced release date of Android Oreo for HTC 10. I'll be updating you as soon as HTC announces anything regarding this.
