Xiaomi has recently announced it's new firmware based on Android, MIUI 10. It's announced to be in development right now. Hong Feng, president of Xiaomi announced MIUI 10 at an assembly meeting in China. In this assembly meeting, Xiaomi discussed it's key features and it's aims regarding MIUI 10. MIUI 10 Features:
According to a report on MyDrivers, Xiaomi might be moving it's development unit from MIUI 9.2 to MIUI 10 which indicates that MIUI 10 will be another major update just like MIUI 8. Xiaomi also shared an image of the event on a micro-blogging site weibo. And from the reports of the event it has been cleared that MIUI 10 will be solely focused on Artificial Intelligence and Machine language. Artificial Intelligence indicates that Xiaomi might be planning to release it's own integrated Assistant just like Bixby, Google assistant, Alexa, and many more.
Soon after the release of MIUI 9, Xiaomi shifts its attention to the next MIUI version, MIUI 10. Xiaomi Co-Founder and Vice President ‘Hong Feng’ says that the tenth version of MIUI will be smarter rather than being faster on which the current MIUI 9 relies on.
Currently, MIUI 9 is lightning fast custom Android OS. Xiaomi has removed more than 50 functions which were less used by the users to make ROM lighter and fastest. Coming to MIUI 10, the company will go quite opposite. Xiaomi VP says that the next version of MIUI will be the unfinished business of MIUI 9, which is smart voice assistant. Apart from this, the new version brings new emoji, revamped notifications and ‘notification dots’, new setting menu, better battery life, and more.

MIUI 9 was released with Android version 7.0\7.1 and inherited the features of Nougat (Android 7.0) too. So, it is pretty clear that MIUI 10 will be based on Android version 8.0 (Oreo) and will inherit the features of Oreo such as Picture in Picture mode, multi-window, Google Play Protect, System UI Tuner, autofill and smart text selection, better animations, adaptive icons, and more.
MIUI 10 Released Date:
There is no official comment by Xiaomi on this part, so the release date is still a mystery. But, by our knowledge it is clear that it will not be launched any soon, it might take months and for a guess it might be released aroung July(which is totally just a guess), just the time when MIUI 9 was released last year.
