WhatsApp Payments UPI-Based Feature Arrives in India on Android Phones, iPhone

If you are a What's app user then you must know this latest upcoming feature in WhatsApp.


Usually WhatsApp is used to deliver or receive message or to share contents,photos or videos.But now WhatsApp  has started testing out it's UPI-based payments feature in India.The new feature available for select WhatsApp beta users on iOS and Android , allows users to send or receive money using the Indian government's Unified Payments Interface .i.e. UPI.WhatsApp version 2.18.21 for iOS,and version 2.18.41 for Android allows this particular feature.As India has a large user base of messaging app,the payment platform's integration may give another boost to digital payments.

The feature can be accessed in chat room through the Attachments menu.The option is said to available along with the other options such as Gallery,Video,Documents,etc.When clicking on the Payments it will pop out a list consisting of list of banks to choose from.


You can select your respective Bank account to get connect with UPI.If you haven't yet used UPI payment platform you will be asked to create an authentication pin along with UPI account through the UPI app or with your respective bank's website/app.

Although a report also says that the both sender and receiver must have there respective WhatsApp payment feature to successfully send or receive particular transaction from this messaging app.Also there is a issue to link the user's bank account with WhatsApp payment,however this was expected from a feature available in beta.This latest version is now available in iOS.In devices of Andriod is available this feature.
