Android security is a matter of utmost concern, and it's the most essential component which maintains our privacy from outside world. Today, each an every detail of a individual is available in the dark web, our negligence is the prime cause for this leak of information. But, evn though a lot of information is available on dark web, still there is still something private that we keep offline in our mobile phones, I know for us it's not of utmost importance, but for many enterprises there handheld device might be a box of secrets which they wouldn't want anyone to take a peak into their secrets. Not only them, every individual have something that wouldn't want anyone to know about.

Earlier, there was least security in the smartphones coz people never taught that smartphones would become such a dependable device in mere future. After some time, the data theft came into existence which made Android security essential. One of the security feature which was introduced was lock screen, it is most basic security which doesn't allow any leak of information offline.
Due to introduction of fingerprint sensor pattern and pin locks have become of least use. But, every nice thing has a price to be paid, in this case, the price to decrease in security. Let me explain it with a situation, as you know devices can be unlocked by your fingerprint at any instance, if a person is asleep or is distracted it's not a difficult job for someone to unlock your phone with your finger. In more easy words, you can lock your phone away, but while you are asleep I can come to you and unlock your phone by just placing your finger. Such incidents have been occurred around the globe which is why our next feature has been brought in this new Android 'P'
Feature: Lockdown Option to Temporarily Disable Fingerprint Authentication
This feature enables us to Disable Fingerprint authentication for a temporary time. By disabling fingerprint authentication, one can unlock his/her phone by just entering you pattern or pin. Once you enable this option the one knowing your pin or pattern only can access your phone. This feature does increase Android security, but it will too have flaws. But for a extent it can improve the security.

You will find this option the lock screen or security settings menu. Initially, this option is disabled but you can enable it manually or it is directly in the quick toggle menu which is also a feature in Android P which I'll discuss in next Feature post. You can see in the above figure.
And now for
my personal opinions on this feature, it's a great feature. It can improved by adding a daily schedule for enabling it. For eg: I can set the timing to 00:00 hours everyday, which will enable this option daily at that time of the day.
