"Shape of Water" was the star of the evening by taking four Academy Awards including Best picture Award.
Shape of Water film's Director "Guillermo del Toro" was awarded by the Best Director.
Shape of water lost in best original screenplay category which was taken by writer-director "Jordan Peele’s" For his movie
"Get Out".
Another highly-fancied contender, "Three Bilboards Outside Ebbing Missouri" picked up a Best Actress Oscar for Frances McDormand and a Best Supporting Actor win for Sam Rockwell.
McDormand was taking her "Second Oscar" for Best Actress. In that honour she--asked all the felmale nominees to stand up to congratulate her. She was off from the Stage by saying -- "I want to say two words for you all "Inclusion rider".
Other Oscar winners included Gary Oldman, who won Best Actor for his performance as Winston Churchill in “Darkest Hour,” and Allison Janney, who took home the Best Supporting Actress award for “I, Tonya.”
Christopher Nolan’s Second World War movie “Dunkirk” might have failed to win Best Picture or Director, but it picked up three sound and editing Oscars to finish as the evening’s second-biggest winner.
It was also a good night for writer-director James Ivory, who became the oldest Oscar winner at the age of 89 for his screenplay adaptation of Andre Aciman’s novel “Call Me by Your Name.” “Coco,” Disney/Pixar’s Mexican-set fantasy animated film, won Oscars for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for “Remember Me.”
