What's happening in Syria

Syria is under civil war from last six years by three different groups.

The Three Groups are :-
1) The Soldiers which are in support of Syria President Bashar al-Assad

2 ) The Group call Rebels, who are against the rule of Syria President Bashar al-Assad

3) The third group is So-called Islamic State IS

Islamic State (IS) has over taken the large part of Iraq and the moved in to eastern Syria to over the control in 2014.

The first big city taken by IS is Raqqa. They were not satisfied by that so they have continued taking control over larger city of Syria like north-Aleppo and Turkish border.

But since then they have lost many of there over taken land

In November 2017 An alliance of Syria Kurdish and Arab fighters supported by America, have taken back the north-west side of Raqqa by barking down there headquarters in Raqqa.

This has ended three years of IS rule in Raqqa.

Now Syria TV, which is under Syria President bashar al-Assad said that they have taken back the largest city in eastern Syria Deir al-Zour.

Earlier the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based activist group, said government forces had taken control of the city after weeks of fighting.

The city was very important to IS because of it is close to the border with Iraq.
But there is some disagreement over whether IS has been cleared from the area completely.
Syrian state TV report that the city is now completely free from terrorism, while other reports say the Syrian army and its allies were clearing the last pockets of resistance from IS.

Around 350,000 civilians in the province have been forced to run away from their homes.

The rebels named by White Helmets chief said that in last 13 days 674 people are killed and hundreds of more were wounded

This is because the bombard done on eastern Ghouta of Syria by Government of Syria and Russia.

"In less then 2 weeks 674 people dead and many of them are wounded"said by White Helmets chief.

The UN's human rights chief has warned that attacks on Syria's Eastern Ghouta probably amount to "war crimes" and that those behind the targeting of civilians will be held to account.

"I must emphasise that what we are seeing, in Eastern Ghouta and elsewhere in Syria, are likely war crimes, and potentially, crimes against humanity," Zeid Ra'ad al-Hussein said at an emergency meeting of the UN Human Rights Council on Friday.
